16th Annual Oodles of Noodles
Oodles of Noodles is held in Old Town Dayton and helps raise funds for the Dayton Museum and Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. The festival celebrates the area’s Italian and Chinese Heritage, and offers plenty of pasta, street vendors and entertainment. Over 9,000 guests attend this fun event! Tours of 1865 Schoolhouse Museum, firehouse/ jail, Carson & Colorado Depot/property and Dayton Valley Community Center are also featured.

Pony Express Re-ride
The ride this year is East to West. It’s most likely to reach the CA/NV border June 14 at 5:30 PM, so might be coming through Dayton the morning of June 14, if the same timing to get between Dayton and the border is as it was last year, that would be around 9 am.

Dayton Valley Days
An outdoor street festival where people from Dayton and the surrounding areas, along with many “out-of-towners,” come together to enjoy the historic downtown area. Various arts/crafts and food booths line Pike Street in downtown Dayton for visitors to enjoy. A parade takes place on Saturday to open the event, along with the Gold Creek Show-n-Shine. The Kid Zone is sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Mason Valley, Dayton Units. The Schoolhouse Museum, firehouse/jail, and Carson & Colorado Depot/property will be open for tours. Enjoy live entertainment, a silent auction, and two-day chili cook-off. Sunday features a pet parade and much more! Proceeds benefit the Dayton Units of the Boys & Girls Club of Mason Valley, and proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off on Sunday benefit the Lyon County Shop-With-A-Sheriff program.

2016 Country Harvest Festival & Punkin Chunkin Contest
All homemade trebuckets & catapults are welcome! The Punkin Chunkin will be at the Silver Springs Library Complex and the winner will receive $100.00! For more information about the contest, contact Linda at 775-577-4336. The Country Harvest Festival will be at the Silver Stage Ballpark, next to the Silver Springs Library! Come on out for some Fall Fun!

A family affair geared to goblins of all ages! History comes alive when Dayton’s “Ghostly pioneers” spin tales of old. Includes spirited historical living ghost tales as the haywagons circle through Old Town Dayton. Light refreshments and old fashion children’s games and contests also featured. Free!

Sixth Annual Dayton – A Small Town Christmas
The celebration begins at 5pm and events for the evening include; Santa Claus arriving at Our Park guided by the Blue Knights motorcycle club and NHP officer Carl Johnson. Riding on the antique fire engine with Santa will be the Dayton High School Cheer Squad. Santa will be posing for photos throughout the event. Bring your own camera or let Denise Crites Photography take them for you. Her pictures will be posted on*line and you can upload yours from there ~ FREE. The 2nd Annual UGLY SWEATER CONTEST will take place and first prize is a $50 Gift Card to the Red Dog Saloon in Virginia City. Bring your donations of non*perishable food items. For each item donated one will receive a raffle ticket. If your ticket is drawn, you and your family will have the privilege of lighting the town Christmas tree! A refreshment area, hosted by the Kiwanis will feature free cookies and hot chocolate.
